Jimmies Basketball
The unique and exciting Jimmies basketball program of excellence is available to all students of all levels of ability.
Basketball is a cornerstone of the sporting culture at St James College, with a proud history of success and strong student engagement across all year levels.
From Year 5 through to Year 12, students can compete in a wide range of competitions, including the prestigious Champion Basketball School of Queensland (CBSQ) tournament, where our senior teams consistently perform in Division 2.
In 2025, St James showcased its depth and commitment by entering both boys and girls teams in every CBSQ category—Primary, Junior Secondary, Sophomore, and Open.
Many of the competitions that St James compete in are held after school and on weekends, reflecting the dedication of our players and coaches. Training sessions run every weekday morning and afternoon, ensuring students are well-prepared and supported.
Aspiring athletes also have the chance to advance through Central Sharks District trials and onto Met East representative pathways, making basketball at St James both inclusive and aspirational.
The program runs all year round with skill sessions, camps, tours, and tournaments and is accessible to all students regardless of their financial circumstances.
