When Village Voice Brisbane approached St James College in search of aspiring young journalists, Year 12 student Indi Scott stepped up to the challenge — becoming a published writer in the October Peninsula Issue of the Village Voice.

Indi's article, featured on page 46, explored the tenth anniversary of Brisbane Fashion Month, a major celebration of Queensland’s creative fashion industry.

“I have always loved writing, and the opportunity to try something new was very exciting,” Indi said. “I had never done an article before, so I took this opportunity to gain experience and knowledge.”

“What I enjoyed most about writing the article was the challenge of writing in a new style. Journalism is very different from what I’m used to writing, and this made it really interesting. I love learning new things.”

“This opportunity has allowed me to become more confident in creating and taking other opportunities that might come my way. This has taught me to not hesitate and to always try. I feel that this will deeply impact my future because I won’t be afraid to get out of my comfort zone.”
