St James College Student Selected for Brisbane Broncos Business Program
Year 12 student Tyrone Guce is proving that hard work and ambition can lead to incredible opportunities. Tyrone has embraced every chance to grow—academically, creatively, and professionally.
With a passion for photography and a keen interest in marketing, Tyrone attended the College’s annual careers expo, where a conversation with representatives from the Brisbane Broncos sparked a new direction. After attending their open information night and receiving complimentary tickets to a game, Tyrone applied for their business management program—and was one of only 30 students selected across Brisbane.
“I’ve always loved sports, but learning about the business and marketing side of the industry really excited me,” Tyrone shared. “St James has helped me discover my strengths and given me the confidence to pursue my goals.”
Currently studying General English, Mathematics, Accounting, Study of Religion, Certificate II in Creative Industries and Certificate III in Business, Tyrone is on an ATAR pathway and plans to study a Bachelor of Marketing at QUT next year.
The St James College Rugby Coordinator Blake Henley supports students who want to pursue pathways in sport management, highlighting that opportunities like Tyrone’s show the value of exploring careers not only on the field but also in the many industries beyond the sporting arena.
