St James College Choir and Band Perform at Refugee Week Event
The St James College choir and band proudly represented the college at the Department of Home Affairs’ Refugee Week celebration. In true Jimmies Spirit, the choir performed with heart and soul. Supported by our talented band, the performance captivated the audience and was rewarded with enthusiastic applause.
Drawing on the 2025 Refugee Week theme “Finding Freedom: Diversity in Community”, students also had the privilege of hearing from guest speaker Kenny Duke, who shared her powerful journey as an El Salvadorian refugee in Australia. Her story was deeply moving and resonated strongly with many of our students, adding greater meaning to the event.
Congratulations to the students who participated. Their passion and pride were evident, showcasing their musical talents and the strength of our college’s values and the Edmund Rice touchstones.
