Largest Student Contingent Tackle Brisbane Kokoda Challenge
In a remarkable display of resilience and teamwork, St James College celebrated its largest-ever participation in the 2025 Brisbane Kokoda Challenge last Saturday. Seven enthusiastic teams took on the demanding course, starting at Brookfield Reserve and hiking 18 km through the D’Aguilar National Park.
The Kokoda Challenge is renowned for testing physical and mental endurance, and the teams traversed the rugged terrain and steep climbs, embodying the Kokoda values of courage, endurance, mateship, and sacrifice.
Guided by dedicated Team Leaders, the students navigated the course to the finish line. Behind the scenes, staff played a vital role in ensuring safe transport for all participants and providing a nourishing breakfast that fuelled the students for the journey ahead.
For some, this event marked the successful completion of their Kokoda journey. For others, it was just the beginning, with eyes now set on the upcoming Gold Coast Kokoda Challenge next month.
Congratulations to all involved—your spirit and perseverance continue to inspire the St James community!
