College Art Exhibition & Alumni Gathering
Last Friday evening, the Tapa Arts Centre at the St James Creative Arts Precinct was transformed into a vibrant celebration of creativity and connection. The annual College Art Exhibition & Alumni Gathering brought together students, staff, alumni, and guests for a night filled with inspiration and community spirit.
The exhibition showcased an impressive array of student artworks, each piece reflecting the talent and imagination nurtured at St James College. A standout moment of the evening was the presentation of the Principal’s Award to Year 12 student Tyrone Guce for his captivating photography piece — a true highlight that drew a great deal of admiration.
During the event, Principal Andrée Rice shared exciting updates about the college’s continued growth, now proudly educating 1,030 students, and announced the acquisition of a new building on Warren Street, marking another milestone in the college’s journey.
The alumni gathering was equally heartwarming, with graduates from 1954 to 2024 reconnecting, reminiscing, and celebrating the enduring Jimmies’ spirit. Laughter, stories, and shared memories filled the space, reminding everyone of the strong bonds that make the St James community so special.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who contributed to the success of this event. Your presence and support continue to enrich our vibrant college culture.
